People First Streets

Making streets safer for all Midvale Heights residents

From its abundance of mature trees to its easy access to the Southwest Commuter Path, Midvale Heights is an extraordinary neighborhood to explore by foot or wheel.

But we believe our streets can be even safer and more welcoming—especially for our kids. So the People First Streets Committee focuses on:

Safe & Connected Corridors: Partnering with programs and city officials to design predictable intersections, calmer streets, and smooth connections for all forms of travel.

Living Infrastructure: Championing green spaces by bringing more native plants and mature trees to our neighborhood corridors.

Some recent victories to share:

The committee installed pedestrian safety flags at the wide Segoe Road & Hillview/Laub intersection near Segoe Park.

On behalf of Midvale Heights, we hosted Madison  Director of Transportation Christoph Spieler for a walk-through to discuss creative streetscape and infrastructure solutions for Segoe Road.

People First Streets is a voice for the neighborhood, and that means we need yours.
